FAILED MARRIAGE WITH SOMIZI

If the claims are ture, this will be the actor’s second engagement, as he was previously engaged and married to Somizi.

Somizi proposed to Mohale at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, in 2018. The pair had their traditional wedding in September 2019, followed by their lavish white wedding in January 2020 which aired on Showmax.

Speculation about the couple heading for divorce began in 2021 when Mohale sent shockwaves around the country when he made allegations of abuse against Somizi in an explosive leaked audio. In the audio, he said the abuse dated back to as early as three weeks into their relationship.

Somizi later sent a summons for divorce to Mohale, noting they were married in community property under customary law.

However, in March this year, TshisaLIVE reported that Somizi had withdrawn his divorce summons against Mohale and paid his legal fees. This after the 26-year-old denied entering into a “valid customary [marriage] on 28 September 2019”.

Somizi’s legal representatives told the publication that they obtained expert opinion clarifying the existence of the marriage that revealed “not all customs were complied with.”

Addressing the abuse claims, they said: “We know about the abuse allegations, but our client has denied all along and still denies.”
