The Moja LOVE channel released a statement on Tuesday, 21 November, confirming the death of media personality Gogo Mathambo who is said to have died on the morning after suffering from a short illness.

According to Moja LOVE, Gogo Mathambo, the presenter of the show Fake Gobela passed away on Tuesday morning and his funeral details will be announced during the course of the week.
“It is with deepest sadness that Moja LOVE announces the passing of one of the channel’s talent. Gogo Mathambo, the presenter of Fake Gobela, passed away this morning after a short illness,” the statement read.

The late presenter’s death is said to be a huge loss to the channel.
“He was talented and passionate about making a difference in the community. Gogo Mathambo displayed a courageous spirit in exposing fake sangomas and gobelas and the injustice happening in that space,” the statement read.
The channel further sent its deepest condolence to Mathambo’s family, friends, and fans and said his “contribution will be hugely missed”. Tributes since have poured in abundance from Mathambo’s fans and several viewers of the Fake Gobela show on social media.
