Springbok Damian Willemse may have a legion of adoring female fans, but there’s only one woman who holds a special place in his heart – his mother!
In touching scenes posted on social media, the 25-year-old – a two-time winning Rugby World Cup champion – lovingly embraced his mom during his homecoming to his community of strand.

DAMIAN WILLEMSE’S MOM GETS LOVE FROM SPRINGBOK
On Wednesday. 8 November, Damian Willemse returned to his childhood community of Strand in the Western Cape.
In pics and clips posted on social media, the young star was seen making an entrance in a BMW convertible, with his popular phrase: “Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie.”
Dressed in casual wear, the flyback was surrounded by fans – particularly females who showed him love.
But one particular scene had fans reaching for the tissues – the moment the Springbok saw his mom, who instantly became emotional.
Damian lovingly hugged and kissed her and even placed his Rugby World Cup medal around her neck…

THE RETURN OF THE DIRTY KIT?
Meanwhile, all bets are on whether Damian will sport his dirty Rugby World Cup kit under his Stormers kit when he marks his return,
According to fans, Damian may play as soon as Saturday, 12 November, when the Stormers take on Benetton at the Stadio Monigo in Italy.
One tweep shared: “At this rate, Damian Willemse will return to Stormers wearing the Springboks jersey he wore at the final.
“He will also wear the Springboks jersey inside the Stormers one during URC Games.”
