With the Rugby World Cup done and dusted, South Africa has shifted their focus to another national hero called Rassie, the Proteas player making waves in India.

Van der Dussen is part of the national squad at the Cricket World Cup, who will be playing their semi-final game against Australia on Thursday, 16 November.

CRICKET WORLD CUP SEMI’S: SA VS AUSTRALIA

South Africa will take on Australia in a highly-anticipated semi-final clash in Kolkata.

The two heavyweight countries will battle it out for a spot in the finals against host nation India on Sunday, 19 November.

According to Rassie van der Dussen, the Proteas are going into the game with confidence and optimism.

He told The Citizen: “From the start (of the tournament), it’s been almost like a must-win type of mindset for us, so I don’t think too much will be different.

“I think it will be a good game”.

His first name is not Rassie.

The star cricketer was born Hendrik Erasmus van der Dussen.

He’s played cricket in clubs around the world.

Rassie van der Dussen’s T20 career includes stints both locally and in countries like Canada, Pakistan, India, and St Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean.
