Uyajola 9/9 host Jub Jub – real name Molemo Maarohanye – is expected back at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 11 December.

The rapper is facing 13 counts, ranging from multiple counts of rape, assault, attempted murder and kidnapping.

The complainants are three of his ex-girlfriends, actress Amanda; songtress, Kelly Khumalo; and Radio and TV host, Masechaba Khumalo. The fourth woman is his cousin.

During his last court appearance, Jub Jub’s legal representative, advocate Terrence Ntsako Baloyi, requested that the trial be postponed as the rapper is fully booked and would be unavailable in December. However, Magistrate Betty Khumalo dismissed the submission, further issuing a stern warning to the media personality and his legal team.

“When you proposed a date to me, have you not consulted? Already, I have made an order. You see? I am not inclined to change my order. That date should not have been proposed from the onset if you knew that your client would be unavailable.

“If your client is not available, a warrant of arrest will be authorised. You will have to see to it. The case stands down for December 11.”

In August this year, the Ndikhokhele hitmaker handed himself over at the Brixton police station.

At the time, Baloyi said the musician is shocked and has lost faith in the justice system.

“He’s devastated and he is at the time where he doesn’t understand what these charges are all about and why they crop up now. So, he is so disappointed with the justice system and how things are being done. It seems like men are given so much power who can bring down any man who is coming up and that becomes unfair to our justice system,” the SABC quoted Baloyi as saying.

According to Sunday World in September, the rapper is expected to argue – among other things – that Amanda du-Pont would have reported him whilst in jail if he had indeed sexually assaulted her.

In court papers, the musician said his romantic relationship with the former Skeem Saam actress was a happy one until she found out through the papers in 2009 that he was cheating on her with Kelly Khumalo. He claims he later only heard from her when he was serving jail time for culpable homicide between 2012 and 2017.

The Phind’ukhulume rapper said the actress had visited him in prison with musician and businessman DJ Sbu – real name Sibusiso Leope. During their visit, the former couple took a picture together.
