Love is in the air for Springboks superfan Mama Joy!

The popular Royal AM FC supporter appears to have returned to South Africa with more than just the Webb Ellis Cup after the Springboks’ victory over New Zealand last month.

MEET MAMA JOY’S MAN

On Saturday, 11 November, she took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to show off her man.

Mama Joy, real name Joy Chauke, set tongues wagging and her name shot up the trends list when she shared images of her boyfriend. The snaps were shot after her man took her on a shopping spree and got her luxury Gucci items as well as a gold locket bracelet with the words “Je t’aime” – French for “I love you”.

“What about this? My man has got taste. Thanks Babe for the gifts. What do you think SA? I am a lucky woman neh?” she wrote.

A RESPONSE TO RENALDO GOUWS?

It appears Mama Joy’s posts were also a jab at Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor, Renaldo Gouws, who has repeatedly accused her of using taxpayers’ money to fund her lifestyle.

On Friday, Mama Joy shared a photo of herself en route to the Royal AM vs Cape Town City DStv Premiership clash at the Cape Town Stadium. What was evident in the image were her designer items – from her bags to her suitcase and shoes.

Gouws – who accused the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture of sponsoring Mama Joy’s superfan career at the Rugby World Cup – criticised her once more, suggesting her luxury items were bought with taxpayers’ money.

“Gucci Shoes: R19,500. Gucci Handbag: R19,000. Louis Vuitton Travel Bag: R65,000. Louis Vuitton Roller Suitcase: R97,000. Taxpayers funding everything: Priceless.”
