South African siblings trio Biko’s Manna are over the moon about their Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards nomination.

The group – consisting Biko Nhlangothi ,17, Manna, 14 and Mfundo, 9 – is nominated in the Favourite Kidfluencer category. They will face off with Kairo Forbes, Dream Catchers Academy, DJ Wysei and Boluwatife Balogun.

BIKO’S MANNA NOMINATED FOR A NICKELODEON KIDS CHOICE AWARD

Speaking to SowetanLIVE about their achievement, Biko revealed that she was super excited and proud.

“I was over the moon when I found out that we were nominated. This is our first-ever nomination. I could not believe that something that we’ve dreamed of for a long time is actually becoming a reality,” Biko said.

“I was honestly so proud of how far we’ve come. Looking back from where it started and where it is now, is a feeling I cannot describe. We’re just so grateful to God and cannot wait to see what the future holds for us.”

WORKING WITH HER SIBLINGS CAN BE CHAOTIC

Biko’s Manna are originally from Johannesburg and have put a smile on millions of people’s faces across the world with their singing.

They are the talented children of singer and actress Ayanda Nhlangothi and Sebone Rangata – who are often seen performing with them at the Maboneng Precinct and at corporate gigs and events.

While the trio enjoys working together, Biko told SowetanLIVE that it can be chaotic.

“Being in a band with my siblings is chaotic at times but it’s an absolute joy. My siblings are my best friends, for real,” Biko said.

“The cool thing about being in a band with my brothers is that we would make jokes about almost anything, our bond is unstoppable. The most common thing I’ve picked up myself is that their presence always comforts me whenever I feel nervous or tense before going on stage.

According to Ever Was the siblings fell in love with music and doing song covers after their father visited Japan. Rangata, who enjoyed Japanese pop music, brought back some music with him, and his children picked up the lyrics by ear, and they’ve made their own cover versions since.

Performing has been passed on from generation to generation as the trio’s grandmother is a well-known performer, Dr Tu Nokwe, who was a member of the group Black Angels.

TEACHING JENNIFER HUDSON THE TSHWALA BAM DANCE CHALLANGE

In May Biko’s Manna made their second guest appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show.

Last year, the popular siblings were invited to the Jennifer Hudson Show where they performed the song, I Say A Little Prayer.

During their second appearance, Mfundo got to teach Jennifer the viral Tshwala Bam dance challenge – which has been dribbling many on social media.

The trio is currently competing on America’s Got Talent.
