Babes Wodumo visits her boyfriend

Musician Babes Wodumo’s legion of fans have been worried about her since the passing of her husband Mampintsha.

Gqom queen Babes Wodumo recently visited her late husband Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo’s grave.

The Big Nuz member passed away almost eleven months ago, on 24 December, after suffering from a stroke.

BABES WODUMO VISITS HER BOYFRIEND

In an Instagram post, Babes – real name Bongekile Simelane – shared that she had gone to visit him the father of her only child, Hlelolenkosi Maphumulo.

“Kade ngivakashele isoka lami [I went to go and visit my boyfriend],” she wrote.

FANS WORRIED ABOUT THE MUSICIAN

Babes’ post come a day after she posted a concerning Instagram story which left fans worried.

Taking to Instagram Stories, the Wololo hitmaker wrote, “Engathi ngingafa,” which loosely translates to “I wish I could die.”

A week for that, Babes was seen breaking down on Instagram Live when her late husband’s song Ngeke was playing.

In the Instagram Live video, Babes is with her sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane and another man in what looks like a studio. As Babes’ tears roll down her cheeks, she is consoled by her sister who kisses her several times on the cheek.

In September, the Shut Up and Groove hitmaker told Zimoja that life has been difficult without her husband but the show must go on.

“It feels great to be getting back into the swing of things again. I had my time to grieve properly, so I’m just so excited.

“It’s been different without my Mampintsha. I had to learn to make decisions on my own. Before I used to make decisions with Mampintsha, so I’m doing everything on my own with the help of my team, but all is well,” she said.
