Musician and footballer Andile Mpisane has worked hard to lose weight and ensure that he reaches his optimal fitness levels in oder to represent his mother’s football club, Royal AM.

The reality TV star is the son of multimillionaire Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize and former policeman Sbu Mpisane.

ANDILE MPISANE’S WEIGHTLOSS JOURNEY AND LOVE FOR FOOTBALL

Since the start of his professional football career, he has endured negativity from social media users regarding his weight.

The backlash became so bad that his mother defended him in during her interview with sportscaster Andile Ncube on his Metro FM show, Sports Night Amplified, in September 2022.

MaMkhize, who gave her son the chairman position at the DStv Premiership club, said that her son goes to training like the rest of his teammates.

“There is one thing people don’t know about Andile, as much as he is my son, he goes to training like every player. He trains with the team and Andile is the one who brought me into soccer because of his love for football. I used to cheer for him when he used to play at AmaZulu,” she told Ncube.

FANS SEE RUGBY POTENTIAL IN THE FOOTBALLER

Last year, the 22-year-old father-of-four started documenting his weightloss journey on Instagram, and the results are showing.

In a recent video, the Makhwapheni singer is seen sprinting on the driveway of his mother’s upmarket La Lucia mansion in Durban. Attached to him is a speed resistance parachute which is designed to instantly catch the wind as he runs, adding weight of resistance to make it harder to run.

Andile’s video appeared to impress a number of netizens. While some said they couldn’t wait to see him playing football after working hard to keep fit, others said they can imagine him playing rugby.
