Ali Bacher’s relationship with David Teeger revealed

Former South African Test cricket captain and administrator of the United Cricket Board of South Africa, Ali Bacher, is making headlines against the backdrop of his David Teeger remarks.

The cricket supremo took a swipe at Cricket South Africa and asked about the board’s decision-making process in stripping Teeger’s captaincy.

ALI BACHER’S RELATIONSHIP WITH DAVID TEEGER REVEALED

The former Under-19 captain was stripped of his captaincy after his pro-Israeli remarks. During the 2023 Absa Jewish Achiever Rising Star Awards, he caused a furore when he dedicated his award to the soldiers in Israel.

Ahead of the 2023 U-19 World Cup, CSA stripped him of captaincy, citing fears of an in-tournament protest against Teeger. Ali Bacher has often questioned the decision made by CSA.

Against his remarks, Mzansi was puzzled to learn that he is related to Teeger. Reports have it that Bacher is related to Teeger through his wife. In 1965, Bacher married Shira Teeger. Reports have it that his marriage to Teeger.

Ali Bacher’s relationship with David Teeger has thrust them into top trends. Of interest is that he also has ties with fast-rising star Dean Bacher. Ali Bacher is an uncle to the former King Edward VII School (KES) head boy, Dean Bacher.

COMING FROM SPORTING FAMILIES

Dean Bacher’s father, Adam, played for the Proteas between 1996 and 2005. On the other hand, Teeger’s father was also a celebrated cricketer.

James Teeger kept a wicket for Transvaal during the 1992/1993 season. Dean Bacher and Teeger served as KES’s first cricket team captains.
