‘Left him hanging’: Social media users have reacted to a video of AKA’s father Tony Forbes seemingly snubbing Minister Bheki Cele.

Earlier today (29 February 2023,) five of the seven suspects in the Kiernan “AKA” Forbes murder case made their first court appearance. The rapper was shot and killed outside Wish On Florida in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal last year. His father Tony Forbes is among those who headed to court and has left social media users buzzing.

This after a video of him seemingly snubbing Police Minister Bheki Cele — who was also in court — went viral.

Many shared their thoughts on the video as they discussed whether or not Tony may harbor ill feelings towards Cele.

Did Tony Forbes snub Bheki Cele at court today?

After a year of investigating, there have finally been arrests in the AKA murder case. Earlier today, the two suspects accused of executing the murder as well as three of their co-accused, attended their first court appearance.

While the identity of the person who ordered the hit remains unknown, fans of the late rapper have welcomed the progress.

The rapper’s father Tony Forbes also headed to court to face his son’s alleged killers. Video footage of him entering the public gallery has gone viral.

In one, he appears to ignore a handshake from police minister Bheki Cele, instead shaking the hand of General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi who was seated next to the minister.

In the comment section, social media users instantly mocked Bheki Cele who they also criticised for not “doing enough” to move the case along.

“Bathi it’s because he was in the same plane with Cele but mina ngithi he shook Mkhwananzi’s hands first because he did the most.”

Some pointed out that Tony had greeted the minister already.

“Apparently he already greeted him earlier as they flew together from JHB in the morning.”

“He left him hanging.”
