Patrice Motsepe’s presence at Bafana games questioned – Report

A Moroccan publication is reportedly questioning CAF boss, Patrice Motsepe’s attendance at Bafana Bafana’s AFCON games.

CAF (Confederation of African Football) president, Patrice Motsepe’s presence at every game of Bafana Bafana has been questioned.

PATRICE MOTSEPE QUESTIONED

Newspanther reports that Moroccan website, SATV.ma reveals that AFCON (Africa Cup of Nations) analysts are questioning Motsepe’s presence at Bafana Bafana games.

The publications add that Motsepe is accused of influencing the outcome of matches at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) by attending every game of his home country, South Africa.

Some observers are reportedly questioning whether Motsepe’s attendance has affected the performance of the referees and the VAR officials.

The website also suggests that Motsepe’s influence may have resulted in favourable decisions for the South African national soccer team.

However, an An Arab newspaper has reportedly praised the CAF boss‘ attendance for his “constant presence in every match”.

BAFANA BAFANA THROUGH TO SEMIFINALS

South African-born business, Patrice Motsepe travelled to Bafana Bafana’s knockout games last week and watched them beat Morocco and Cape Verde.

Bafana Bafana upset Morocco 2-0 and beat Cape Verde in the quarterfinals on Saturday, 3 February.

The 62-year-old is expected to attend Bafana’s semifinal game against Nigeria on Wednesday, 7 February as well as Ivory Coast and DR Congo’s semifinal.
