Adulting actor and reality TV star Luthando “BU” Mthembu revealed his new “bald” look over the weekend.
‘ADULTING’ ACTOR: ‘BALD HEAD’
Fans of the Adulting actor Luthando BU Mthembu compared his new look to Thabo Bester, while others complimented him.
Mthembu took to his Instagram account on Sunday, 5 May to share a photo of his shaven head after cutting off his cornrows.
Social media user @angambanjwa asked the actor and musician: “Thabo Bester, is that you?” and he replied with laughing emojis: “Hawu?”
The up-and-coming actor and musician BU, also known as the Zulu Vegan, became a household name when he joined the third season of Big Brother Mzansi.
Fans of the actor are also wondering if he got rid of his signature cornrows for an upcoming TV role.

IOL reports that the former Big Brother Mzansi housemate BU Mthembu has starred in Showmax’s Adulting and Mzansi Magic’s Ayeye: Stripped.
Mthembu has also appeared in BET_Africa’s telenovela Redemption, for which he auditioned.
The actor who stars as Vuyani on Showmax’s Adulting discusses working with Thembi Seete in an interview with TshisaLIVE.
“A lot of the scenes that we did together were her first times. So, I felt honoured to have had the opportunity to help her with those experiences onscreen. It was really an honour to work with her,” he said.
“The show just intensified the experience. But I’m grateful to God that I was prepared for that because I’ve already experienced it in my life to some degree.”
Mthembu admits in the interview that without Big Brother, there is no Adulting. And without Adulting there is no next move.
He adds that the reality TV show changed his life in adjusting to popularity. He calls it popularity because he doesn’t think fame in South Africa exists.
WHO IS THABO BESTER?
Thabo Bester is a convicted rapist and murderer who escaped from the Mangaung Correctional Centre after faking his death in a fire in his prison cell in May 2022.
He was on the run for almost a year before being caught with celebrity doctor Nandipha Magudumana in Arusha, Tanzania on 8 April 2023.
Bester is also known as the “Facebook rapist” because he used the platform to lure models with fake job opportunities.
The convicted fraudster, rapist, and murderer is currently serving three life sentences at Kgosi Mampuru’s Correctional Centre.
