Idols SA 2010 runner-up Lloyd Cele has rubbished claims that he is about to lose his property in Centurion, Pretoria. Zimoja alleged that the Make It Easy hitmaker had failed to keep up with payments for a R1.8 million loan that he obtained in 2013. Speaking to TshisaLive, Cele said it was “quite depressing” adding that he was unaware of such news.

PUBLICATION CLAIMS LLOYD CELE WERE TO LOSE THEIR HOUSE

In a news report published on 6 September, Zimoja claimed that singer Lloyd Cele was taken to the South Gauteng High Court for failing to keep up with payments for a R1.8 million loan.

The publication further alleged that the musician was expected to pay R15 000 a month to pay off the loan and defaulted on payments for eight months. Zimoja also claimed that the bank was demanding payment of R1.6 million from him and his wife.

It was also alleged that Cele’s home in a luxury estate in Pretoria would be seized if the R1.6 million payment was not made.

LLOYD CELE RUBBISHES CLAIMS

Speaking to TshisaLive, Lloyd Cele said the claims were false and denied that his home was to be seized by the bank.

“I don’t know anything about that and I’m quite surprised that they wrote such,” said the singer.

“Where did they get all this information from? It’s not true and it’s actually quite depressing that they release things that are not researched properly.”
