South Africans have so far donated R84 000 to ‘7de Laan’ actor David Rees’, who is being treated for a lung infection.

7de Laan actor David Rees’ publicity manager, Corlia Strauss reveals the actor who plays millionaire Chris Welman is being treated for a lung infection.

ACTOR DAVID: LUNG INFECTION
The talented 7de Laan actor David Rees’ publication manager also shared on his Facebook account on Monday, 14 August that he is being treated by a pulmonologist for a slight lung infection.
“David had a peaceful night. Slept well. He is being treated by a pulmonologist for a slight lung infection. It’s flu season and the fear of infection is serious, so no visitors allowed yet. Thank you for the continued support,” she said.
Strauss also revealed to TshisaLIVE that the actor’s family is grateful to those who have been by their side and all the well wishes have been shared with the Rees
“The family under these circumstances are doing OK. These circumstances are never nice. There’s the BackaBuddy fund. All the money has not yet been raised, but we are very thankful for what we have raised thus far.”
She added that Rees is motivated by fans and are they’re also thankful to his colleagues, the cast and management for the emotional support, as well as the support of the public.
The family launched a BackaBuddy (crowdfunding page) to raise R500 000 for his medical bills. The public had donated R84 800 on Monday, 14 August.
