American reality star Kim Kardashian revealed how she felt about her then-boyfriend Pete Davidson going to space – on the latest episode of The Kardashians which was released on Hulu on Thursday 6 October.

Kim Kardashian previously announced that after the first episode of the second season of The Kardashians, everything will be a “flashback”. The bombshell first episode covered the birth of Khloe’s second child with Tristan Thompson, after his paternity scandal.

So, at the time of filming Kim was in a relationship with comedian Pete Davidson. She expressed her concerns for the former Saturday Night Live star wanting to go to space.

“I really can’t believe it, that [he’s] going to go. It seems like such a scary concept to me. I understand the greater goal for our planet but I was always like, can it blow up?” she explained.

However, her mind changed when she spoke to billionaire Jeff Bezos. She then became comfortable with the idea and said she would try it herself if she didn’t have kids. Kim has four children with rapper Kanye West – North (9), Saint(6), Chicago (4) and Psalm (3).

“After talking to [Jeff] Bezos about it and hearing how safe it is, and all the testing and everything they do, I felt comfortable with him going. I was like, “if I didn’t have four kids, I would absolutely go’,” she said.

The rocket was set to launch on 23 March, but a week before the official Blue Origin Twitter page announced that Pete would no longer be on the mission.

“Blue Origin’s 20th flight of New Shepard has shifted to Tuesday, March 29. Pete Davidson is no longer able to join the NS-20 crew on this mission. We will announce the sixth crew member in the coming days,” tweeted Blue Origin.

No explanation as to why Pete wasn’t able to join had been provided.

Kim and Pete had been together during the filming of the episode. However, the pair called it quits after nine months of dating. The pair reportedly broke up due to long distance, Pete had been spending time in Australia shooting a film.

“Kim and Pete have decided to just be friends,” said a source to Page Six.

“They have a lot of love and respect for each other, but found that the long distance and their demanding schedules made it really difficult to maintain a relationship,” said the source.
