South African musician Ntombezinhle Jiyane — best known by her stage name DJ Zinhle — just debuted the third season of her reality TV show DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected. During one of the show’s latest episodes, she opened up about her children — eight-year-old Kairo and two-year-old Asante — being “overexposed” on social media. Discussing this with Kairo Forbes’ grandmother, Lynn Forbes, the pair agreed that it would be in the best interest of both children to take a break from social media platforms.

Reacting to the news, social media users and fans of the famous family could not agree more.

Kairo Forbes social media exit welcomed by fans

On the first episode of DJ Zinhle: Unexpected, Zinhle and Lynn Forbes — the mother of her late ex-boyfriend Kiernan “AKA” Forbes — got together for a catch up session.

Sitting down together, Lynn told Zinhle that she had a dream that her son AKA had visited her in a dream and told her to take his daughter who he shares with Zinhle, off from social media.

Eight-year-old Kairo has a massive following on Instagram — just over 1 million followers — and like many other celebrity children, often finds herself on trends list.

This must by why Zinhle agreed with Lynn and even shared that she also believes her children are overexposed to the online world.

“My kids need a break… they need to choose for themselves. So, when you called me and said you have this dream, and Kiernan said… I’m starting to figure out how to do that,” said the award-winning musician.

Mzansi couldn’t agree more

Taking to social media, many users agreed that Kairo shouldn’t be as active as she is online. Many of them evidently believe it is in her best interest to take a step back from the lime light.

“My principles….Never post my kids for twitter/Facebook/Instagram etc likes! I will never! Some wounds are self inflicted!” one person said while another wrote:

“This is the best decision ever.”
