FLIGHT TRACKING

In 2022, Swift topped the list of celebrities with the highest private-jet carbon emissions. Last year, her jets logged over 166 flight hours during the U.S. tour, sparking criticism.

Swift’s spokesperson responded by revealing the singer’s purchase of carbon credits to offset jet usage, though this hasn’t shielded her from public scrutiny.

STALKING

Swift faced an additional challenge when college student Jack Sweeney began publicly tracking her flights, drawing attention to her environmental impact.

Swift’s legal team issued a cease-and-desist letter, accusing Sweeney of “stalking and harassing behaviour.”

PUBLIC SCRUTINY

In defence, Sweeney argued that tracking public information is not harmful and emphasized the public’s interest.

As Swift navigates these turbulent skies of public scrutiny, her fans are left wondering about the next chapter in her jet-setting journey.
