The Kill Bill singer, SZA, has added another accolade to her impressive collection.

On Thursday, 13 June 2024, she received the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala.

SZA GETS HONOURED

This award celebrates young songwriters who have made a significant impact on the music industry.

SZA, 34, expressed her delight during her acceptance speech, according to People.

“I’m just beyond all of my wildest dreams,” she said.

She added that the honour “basically validates” her entire career, especially her songwriting.

“I’m just so grateful,” she continued. “Thank you for seeing me.”

Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “I swear, I’ll be like, ‘Oh I wrote this and I wrote that.’

People would then be like, ‘OK,’ especially if you’re a woman, especially if you’re a Black woman.
