Sadio Mané’s new bride, Aisha Tamba, breaks her silence

Aisha Tamba, who is Senegalese footballer Sadio Mané’s wife, has spoken out for the first time since their wedding last week.

The newlyweds – who said “I do” at a private ceremony that took place in Keur Massar, a district in Senegal’s capital city, Dakar, on 7 January – have had the spotlight on them since their big day, and 18-year-old Tamba told the Daily Mail that all of it is new to her.

AISHA TAMBA ON HER NEW LIFE AS SAIDO MANÉ’S WIFE

Tamba, who is still a student, said she will not allow her husband’s fame and money to change her.

“I am looking forward to my new life and I know that it will be very different. But I do not feel any pressure because Sadio’s fame and money will not change me. This is not what I’m interested in. I will remain a humble person committed to my faith.

“I’m not used to having so much attention on me because we are a very private family. We don’t like to show off and speak about our personal lives. I am a very down to earth person, this is how I was raised, and nothing will be different just because of this marriage. But I’m very honoured to now be Mrs Mane.”

The publication reports that the 18-year-old lives in a house in Dakar, which spreads across three floors. At times, up to 30 people can be living in it when members of the wider family visit from their ancestral village.

Although the Tambas may be considered relatively wealthy to some, there is a stark contrast to the multi-millionaire former Liverpool footballer who earns a weekly wage of £650 000 (R15 million) at Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr. Mané, who is 31, also flies in private planes and lives in a luxury 10-room mansion the club gave to him.

THEY MET WHEN SHE WAS 16

The couple met when Tamba was 16, through Mané’s agent who was friends with Aisha’s father, Amadou Tamba.

“My wife and Aisha visited their (Mane’s) family one day, and this is where he met her for the first time.

“He probably saw something special in her and his parents appreciated her as well. They came to see me.

“We discussed as per the tradition, agreed on everything and waited for this day to happen,” Amadou Tamba told The Sun.

According to Mané’s father-in-law, the newly wedded couple did not date after being introduced because his daughter was too young.
