Kim Kardashian regrets letting North wear makeup at 5 years old

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian launched her new Skkn by Kim makeup line on Friday, 26 January. As a result, the mogul sat down for an Interview with Bustle magazine discussing everything from the inspiration behind her new brand, her makeup routine to taking about her children and how they view makeup.

KIM KARDASHIAN MAKEUP RULES FOR HER DAUGHTERS

In the interview Kim shares how her kids love playing with her makeup. She further notes how she doesn’t mind them using her makeup for artistry, but then washing it off immediately after.

“You know what, they are always trying to use everything that I have in my drawers. I think it’s a fun game for them. It’s art for them to try to do makeup, which is so fun for me to watch. It’s like they want to play with their friends and do it, and then they want to just wash it right off. I’m down for the artistry. I think it’s fun when they’re trying it all and expressing themselves”, the beauty mogul shared.

Kim also notes that although she doesn’t mind that her children are curious about make up, there are things that she would not allow again. The reality star points out to how she once allowed her then five-year-old daughter, North West to wear red lip stick for Christmas, not that she wouldn’t do that now.

“My littlest one’s too little and I don’t let her. I look back and there’s times when I remember I let my daughter wear a red lip once for Christmas. Would I do that now? Probably not”.

At the time Kim faced backlash for allowing North to wear red lipstick. Many fans pointed out that the five-year old was top young for lipstick.

“She picked it though! It’s a special occasion!” Kim Kardashian shared on Twitter at the time.

‘NO MORE MAKEUP’

In September 2018, the mom of four also shared that she used to bribe North with lipstick “to get out of the door”.

However, this soon came to an end, when North’s dad, Kanye West, shut down her makeup-artist aspirations. Kim told E! News in 2019 that Kanye banned his eldest daughter from wearing colour cosmetics.

“He changed all the rules. I’d let her wear, you know, she has a little red for Christmas, I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something. I’d let her, if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip. I kind of got in trouble for that, so it’s now no more makeup”, she said at the time.
