Disney Channel has officially announced that the sixth season finale of Raven-Symoné Pearman-Maday’s sitcom, Raven’s Home will be the last one for the show.

The news marks the end of an era for the beloved show and its star. Raven first captivated audiences as the psychic teen Raven Baxter in That’s So Raven from 2003 to 2007.

RAVEN-SYMONÉ’S SHOW CANCELLATION

However, fans of the franchise won’t be left empty-handed, according to Daily Mail.

Instead of continuing with Raven’s Home, Disney is moving forward with a spin-off pilot titled Alice in the Palace.

The new show will centre on Raven’s on-screen cousin, Alice Baxter, played by the precocious 12-year-old Mykal-Michelle Harris.

Alice moves back to England and reunites with her doppelgänger, Duchess Clementine, also portrayed by Harris.

RAVEN-SYMONÉ’S MULTI-YEAR DEAL

Raven-Symoné, who will executive produce and direct the pilot, expressed her excitement on Instagram.

“Thank you to #disneybrandedTV for believing in me all these years and for years to come! Let’s get it poppin’!”

The actress is thrilled to embark on this new creative journey as part of her multi-year overall deal with Disney Branded Television.

Alice Baxter’s character has already won the hearts of many, according to IMDB.

RAVEN-SYMONÉ AND HER WIFE

Harris’s performance even earned her a Children’s & Family Emmy Award last year.

The pilot will be written and produced by Raven’s Home creators Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, as reported by Deadline.

They will also oversee the reboot Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Raven-Symoné’s wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, took to Instagram Stories to show her support.

FACING NEGATIVITY

“Soooo proud of you my love @ravensymone!” Despite the positive news, the couple has faced negativity online.

On a 2 May TikTok, Raven-Symoné addressed the issue.

“I’m here with Miranda, my wife, to tell you to stop it in the comments. And stop with the death threats in her DMs.

It is disrespectful to her, and in turn, disrespectful to me. Stop it.”

Miranda added, “I think my wife is endlessly talented. I support her beyond. She also isn’t just Raven-Symoné to me.

FACING ADVERSITY TOGETHER

You guys must try and open your minds a little bit and understand there is more behind people that are celebrity, there is real life here.

And that’s why we’re feeling inclined to address this because I’m receiving so much hate for something that is just a big spiral of internet misinformation.”

The couple, who met at a karaoke event in 2013, will celebrate four years of marriage on 18 June.

Raven-Symoné continues to showcase her versatility and talent.

She will reprise her voiceover role as Maria Media in Anna O’Brian’s comedy Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation.

CAREER LEGACY

This will premiere on Disney Channel on 6 June and on Disney+ the following day.

Raven-Symoné’s career began at age three when she played Olivia Kendall on The Cosby Show.

Her enduring presence in the entertainment industry is a testament to her talent and resilience.

Now, with Alice in the Palace on the horizon, she is set to inspire a new generation of viewers.

As she moves from in front of the camera to behind it, her journey continues to evolve, promising more exciting projects in the years to come.
