After much speculation celebrity couple Halle Bailey and rapper DDG took to their respective Instagram accounts to announce the birth of their first child together, Halo. Since this, DDG’s 2023 Aprils Fools pregnancy announcement has gone viral.

‘CAN’T WAIT TO BE YOUR DAD’
On the 1 April last year, DDG who is a rapper and YouTube content creator tweeted that he could not wait to be a dad.
“can’t wait to be your dad”, DDG shared in a tweet.
Alongside his tweet, Halle Bailey’s boyfriend shared a picture of a sonogram showing a foetus that appeared to be between eight and ten weeks along.
At the time of his announcement many fans doubted the authenticity of the post, especially considering that he posted it on April Fool’s Day.
One X user commented: “This April Fool’s Day is getting out of hand… At least be believable”.
Another user criticised the rapper’s announcement by noting this his post wasn’t “funny”.
“We get it because it’s April fools but babies and faking a pregnancy isn’t cute. This is the oldest and worst April fool’s prank. Surprised you never got the memo that this isn’t funny”.

HALLE AND DDG CONFIRM BIRTH OF THEIR SON
The resurfaced tweet has now led many fans to believe that DDG was in fact telling the truth when he made his announcement in April last year.
This is more so evident after The Little Mermaid actress and her rapper boyfriend confirmed the birth of their son, Halo was born sometime in 2023.
“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son. Welcome to the world my halo, the world is desperate to know you”, Halle Bailey shared in an Instagram post.
In the post The Colour Purple actress shared a picture of her and her boyfriend her holding her newborn’s hand.
DDG also shared a similar picture, which he captioned, “my biggest blessing by far son son.. never been so in love baby Halo”.
Since DDG’s tweet went viral many fans are applauding the rapper for his announcement describing it as “smart”.
“This was hella smart”, one user commented.
