American musician Chris Brown has claimed that he was disinvited from participating in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. Reasons for his disinvitation is said to be due to his past domestic violence incident with ex-girlfriend and singer Robyn Fenty, popularly known as Rihanna.

CHRIS BROWN CALLS OUT NBA FOR DISINVITING HIM

On Saturday, 17 January Chris Brown shared a series of screenshots to his Instagram Story. The series of posts included emails he allegedly received from the basketball league, where they talked about planning his “travel and logistics” for the NBA All-Star weekend.

The NBA All Star weekend kicked off on Friday, 26 February in Indianapolis.

In addition, one of the emails sent sees an alleged representative of the NBA sharing images of what the artists blue uniform would look like, considering that he was paced in rapper, Lil Wayne’s team.

“I was asked by the NBA to play in the all-star game this year! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do IT because of their sponsors like RUFFLES”, Chris wrote in one of his Instagram Story posts.

The singer continued: “At this point I’m sick of people bothering me and I’m tired of living in the f–king past. I POSTED THE EMAILS SO YALL COULD SEE. The NBA still was trying to get me to come and sit court side… NOT F–KING HAPPENING”.

Chris Brown concluded his message by noting, “I ONLY GO WHERE IM APPRECIATED”.

‘STOP DEFENDING ABUSERS’

In response to the R&B artist’s claims, many of Chris Brown’s fan have come to defend him.

One user noted that despite apologizing several times, Chris Brown is still being punished a “decade later”.

“Chris Brown was 18 years old when he made his mistake. He has apologized several times & is still being punished a decade later! but what you guys can never do, is discredit him as an ARTIST! he’s a ICON, a legend, prodigy to the industry. there is NO OTHER artist like Chris”, the user shared on X, formerly Twitter.

Another X user shared: “So let me get this straight. The music industry still has Chris Brown blackballed for something he did as a teen; have since moved on, become adults , & both have put the situation behind their backs”.

Some users are however not in agreeance, with the notion that Chris Brown is punished by the entertainment industry. Many have pointed how the singer is not a saint.

“Chris Brown and his fans like to act like it’s his past or one little mistake that is the problem. This man’s Rap sheet is so long, I describe him as the weapon fashioned against himself”, one user noted.

“Chris Brown didn’t have one incident of violence; he’s been a menace for much longer. If you’re going to complain then include all of his unbecoming acts. The man did not learn from the DV with Rihanna and has continued to victimized others. Stop defending abusers”, another added.
