George Clooney admits Amal Clooney is way out of his league

American actor George Clooney is well aware that he “married up” when he tied the knot to his now wife, Amal Clooney.

GEORGE CLOONEY ADMITS THAT HE HAS MARRIED UP

In an exclusive interview with Page Six, George Clooney jokingly admits to not being up to Amal’s standards when they first got together.

“Yes, and I still do [think that]” the actor noted, when asked if he felt like he was “punching above” his weight with his wife Amal.

The actor also shares how everyone around him agrees and would often say the same thing to him.

“Everyone would say the same thing”, the actor said with a laugh.

‘CONSIDERS AMAL EXTRAORDINARY’

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin tied the knot in September 2014. The couple later welcomed their twins Ella and Alexander in 2017.

Amal is an accomplished barrister who has held various appointments with the UK government and the United Nations. According to Page Six Amal is also an adjunct professor of law at the Columbia Law School.

In 2016, Amal and George have co-founded a human rights organization, the Clooney Foundation for Justice.

Prior to meeting Amal, George Clooney was known as one of Hollywood’s hottest and most sought-after bachelors.

“He doubted for so long that he’d get to meet that soulmate he always dreamed of … It’s no exaggeration to say she swept him off his feet,” a source exclusively told media outlet, Us Weekly in 2021.

The source also noted that George “considers Amal extraordinary” and “tells anyone who’ll listen how he’s the one who hit the jackpot here, not her”.
