In an electrifying Super Bowl LVIII commercial, global music icon Beyoncé took centre stage, attempting to break the Verizon network while unveiling her alter ego, BarBey, and dropping two surprise country songs.

BEYONCÉ’S SUPER BOWL AD

Beyoncé’s commercial featured a series of entertaining attempts to overload Verizon’s wireless network, ranging from opening a Lemonade stand, showcasing her saxophone skills, diving into the gaming world and introducing an A.I. version of herself.

She even announced a fictional candidacy as the “Beyoncé of the United States” and an outer space performance.

BEYONCÉ DROPS NEW MUSIC

Despite her best efforts, none of Beyoncé’s antics succeeded in breaking Verizon, leaving her to declare, “You ain’t gonna break me defiantly.” The suspense reached its peak when she teased, “OK, they ready. Drop the new music.”

On her social media channels, Beyoncé delighted fans by unveiling a teaser video for her unexpected foray into country music.

BEYONCÉ AND TEXAS HOLD ‘EM

The first single, “Texas! Hold ’em,” and the second track, “16 Carriages,” are now available on various streaming platforms according to Deadline.

The much-anticipated album, reportedly titled Renaissance: Part II, is set to grace our ears on 29 March.

This musical revelation follows a week in which Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, expressed his discontent with the Grammys for overlooking her for Album of the Year.

ALBUM OF THE YEAR

Despite being the most awarded artist in history, Beyoncé has never clinched the prestigious Album of the Year accolade.

In a candid statement, Jay-Z addressed the Grammys, urging them to “get it right” and highlighting the incongruity of their metrics. “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year.

So even by your metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys… Never won Album of the Year. That doesn’t work,” he exclaimed.
