Former Kaizer Chiefs star Erick Mathoho – Where is he now?

In the backdrop of his exit from Kaizer Chiefs, many have been trying to connect the dots on the whereabouts of Erick Mathoho.

With an illustrious career spanning years with Kaizer Chiefs, Erick Mathoho became one of the most celebrated stars to have played for the Soweto giants.

He joined the club in 2012 from now-defunct Bloemfontein Celtic, where he spent three seasons. Erick ‘Tower’ Mathoho has been off the hook since he departed from Kaizer Chiefs.

WHAT HAPPENED TO ERICK MATHOHO?

However, despite his exit from Kaizer Chiefs, many have been trying to connect the dots about his whereabouts.

The star has not found a club since his exit and has already seen two DStv Premier League clubs declining his services despite training with him.

Confirmed reports have it that he failed to impress when he had the opportunity to train with SuperSport United. Rumour mill has it that the star’s type of play differed from the club’s philosophy.

However, despite his failed move to SuperSport United, he was once reported training with PSL returnees Polokwane City, but nothing materialised.

WHERE IS HE NOW?

For now, the star is reportedly attending to some personal stuff and made it known that he can not tell where he will be playing this season.

Speaking to FARPost, Erick Matho said, “I think now I cannot tell where I will be playing this season. But when the time is right, people will know about my next move. I think now people can wait.”

After all, it seems as if a surprise is on our way. Mathoho joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2012 and won several cups during his stint. He lifted two DSt Premiership titles in 2013 and 2015 with the club. He also lifted the Nedbank Cup title in 2013 and the MTN8 in 2014.
