ZOLEKA REVEALS CANCER HAS RETURNED

The When Hope Whispers author who is the grandchild of former South African president Nelson Mandela, is a proud mom of six. Earlier this year, she welcomed her “sixth and last” baby — a girl named Zingce Zobuhle Mandela.

Zoleka who had been battling cancer for many years revealed it had returned in August. According to her, she sought medical attention after experiencing excruciating pain in her left rib.

“I’ve had a sore back for more than a month now and recently consulted with my GP when I could no longer tolerate the excruciating pain in my left rib. I went for an X-ray of my chest and rib a few days ago — I have a pathological fracture and swelling caused by cancer,” Mandela wrote on Instagram.

In order to determine whether she had cancer anywhere in her body, the author said her oncologist performed CT (computerized tomography) and bone scans. Eventually, she received her results, which revealed that she has both liver and lung cancer, and said: “she was hanging on by a thread.”

Not so long ago, she revealed that she had begun cancer treatment and said that she was battling to come to terms with the diagnosis. Mzansi has been keeping her in their prayers so that she can be pain-free and continue to raise her children. She recently thanked everyone for the well-wishes and messages of support.
