Erstwhile advocate Malesela Teffo ‘arrested’ on fraud, assault charges [watch]

Erstwhile advocate Malesela Teffo was arrested on 1 August 2023.

The police have since confirmed his arrest, and several viral videos of Malesela Teffo with police have flooded social media.

ERSTWHILE ADVOCATE MALESELA TEFFO ARRESTED

Advocate Teffo is being charged with fraud, assault, malicious damage to property and trespassing.

Confirmed reports have it that he was taken to Pretoria Central police station for processing after he was charged.

However, as of now, little is known about the charges against the advocate.

The advocate was seen walking into the station with several police officers escorting him.

The viral video has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped.

Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi has since established that the 53-year-old will appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on 3 August 2023.

Part of the police statement reads: “The suspect is expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on 3 August.”

MAKING HEADLINES

No doubt this is not the first time the controversial advocate has been arrested.

Despite first representing the four suspects linked to Senzo Meyiwa’s death, he was struck off as an advocate by the Gauteng High Court last year.

The High Court revealed that he was “not fit.” However, the reasons behind his ban are yet to be established. No doubt, despite being struck off the roll, the advocate appeared in Senzo Meyiwa’s court sittings.

In one of the sittings, he was forced out of the court after Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela ordered police to remove him from the court.
