Canadian rapper Drake is making headlines after he splurged R17 million on Tupac’s famous gold crown ring.

No doubt Drake had made headlines late, from his much-awaited tour to purchasing one of Tupac’s expensive jewellery.

Undoubtedly, he added a piece deemed one of the most-priced Hip hop pieces ever sold on an auction.

DRAKE SPLURGES R17 MILLION ON TUPAC’S GOLD RING

Tupac’s famous 14-carat yellow gold ring. The ring was designed and created by Tupac in 1996. It was projected to sell for $300 000.

Taking to Twitter, Daily Rap Facts revealed that Drake had splurged $1 million, which amounts to R17 million for the ring.

Daily Rap Facts tweeted: “Drake is now the owner of the Tupac Shakur ring that recently sold for $1 million at auction.”

The crown-shaped 14 carats ring has five carats of diamonds and rubies. Rumour mill has it that the diamonds and rubies were reportedly added to commemorate his controversial contract with Death Row Records.

It also celebrated his release from prison on bond. However, despite it being one of the most priced jewellery from his collection, he didn’t wear it on public appearances more often.

He was last spotted wearing it a few days before his death. Tupac last wore the ring on 4 September 1996 at the MTV Video Music Awards. A few weeks later, he was pronounced dead after being shot point-blank in a drive-through shooting on 13 September 1996 at 25.

Drake took to Instagram to show off his new timeless ring. No doubt fans flooded his comments section with crazy reactions. The picture of the ring has flooded social media since Drake dropped them.
