Deborah Cox: poor organisation leaves unhappy attendees

Deborah Cox and Musiq Soulchild headlined the ‘Deborah Cox and Musiq Soulchild Magic Music Sessions,’ a highly anticipated R&B concert held at the Grand Arena, Grandwest, Cape Town. The concert, unfortunately, suffered from poor organization, leading to a series of disappointing experiences for the attendees.

DEBORAH COX CONCERT DELAY

The concert took place on Thursday, 27 July. Soon the evening turned into a rollercoaster of emotions for the attendees. The show was scheduled to start at 6 pm, but the organizers pushed it back by an hour and a half. This left the fans, waiting anxiously reports IOL.

As the clock ticked, the crowd grew restless and frustrated. Some fans were even left questioning if the show would go on at all. With sound checks echoing behind closed doors, the anticipation only intensified, but the delay took its toll on the audience’s mood.

POOR ORGANISATION

The show kicked off with Ami Faku taking the stage, and she wowed the crowd with her soulful sounds. Yet, after her performance, unsettling darkness descended on the arena, and the fans were left waiting for nearly 20 minutes. The local favourite, Vusi Nova, eventually took the stage, bringing some much-needed energy and excitement to the event.

But one thing was evident – the 5,000-seater arena was nowhere near full, despite claims that the show was sold out.

DEBORAH COX’S FRUSTRATED FANS

There were no dedicated MCs or DJs during changeovers, and the music played at times went unheard due to technical glitches. It was apparent that something was amiss behind the scenes, leaving fans puzzled and disgruntled. Moreover, the sound engineers from both Deborah Cox and Musiq Soulchild exceeded their allotted time for sound checks, causing further setbacks.

While the performances of Deborah Cox and Musiq Soulchild were nothing short of spectacular, the poorly organized event overshadowed their brilliance. Fans were left frustrated by the lengthy wait, lack of communication, and technical mishaps. The potential for a truly magical concert in Cape Town was dampened by the organizers’ failure to deliver a seamless experience.
