Lady Whistledown officially announced that season three of Bridgerton will be focusing on Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton’s love story via Twitter on Monday 16 May. Does this mean Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley will be returning for season three?

Bridgerton is one of the most popular series on Netflix. The first season of the period drama followed the Bridgerton’s eldest daughter Daphne’s (Phoebe Dynevor) search for a husband. Her unexpected connection with the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) had millions across the globe gushing, including Kim Kardashian.

However, hearts were broken when Lady Whistledown announced that the Duke of Hastings is not part of the season two storyline. This had many wondering if they will be watching the second season or not. The second season shifted focus from Daphne to her older brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and his unexpected connection with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) after courting her sister. The season ended with Kate and Anthony passionately kissing and many want to know what happens next for the pair.

So, will Anthony and Kate return for season three? Yes! Simone told E! News that viewers will get a post-marriage look at the pair.

“Yes, there will be a post-marriage Kanthony story for sure. And I’m super excited for the world to see Nicola [Coughlan] and Luke [Newton] rock it, but also to just play with the Anthony and Kate story now that they’re loved up and they’ve kind of sorted themselves out,” she said to E! News.
