Zephany Nurse – the Cape Town woman named Miché Solomon after being kidnapped as a baby – has tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony.

Last week, the woman dubbed “South Africa’s Madeleine McCann” married her Prince Charming, a football coach named Justin Sheldon. And joining in the celebrations were Zephany’s biological parents, Celeste and Morné Nurse, and the man who raised her as his own, Michael Solomon.

Lavona Solomon – the woman who kidnapped her as a baby – was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. Lavona is up for another parole bid in July after being denied.

ZEPHANY NURSE STOLEN AS A BABY

Zephany Nurse’s story made international headlines a few years ago after it was discovered that she had been stolen as a baby from the Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town back in 1997.

According to Celeste Solomon, her baby daughter was taken by someone whom she describes as a nurse. Fast forward to 2015, and Zephany (then Miché) would coincidentally befriend her biological sister Cassidy at a local school. After friends commented on their bizarre likeness, the Solomons took steps to have a DNA test by the police.

The test confirmed that Miché was indeed Zephany Nurse – then 17 years old. Zephany was reunited with her parents, and her mother was arrested and charged with kidnapping.

FAMILIES UNITE DESPITE TRAGEDY

Despite the tragic sequence of events, Zephany Nurse maintained a relationship with the parents who raised her.

Last week, her biological parents and her father figure, Michael, attended her wedding celebration in Joostenbergvlakte, Cape Town.

Both Michael and Morné walked the now 25-year-old mother-of-two down the aisle.

Zephany’s biological mother told You Magazine: “I never thought I’d see my daughter walk down the aisle. But here we stand today. The best of all is, I’m here, Morné is here, and Michael is here. We’re now a family.”

She added: “I never thought we could all be under one roof. But we can because all three of us love one person.”

PAROLE FOR ZEPHANY NURSE KIDNAPPER?

Meanwhile, Lavona Solomon – the woman who kidnapped Zephany Nurse and raised her as her own for 17 years will face a parole board again in July. She is currently imprisoned at the Worcester Female Prison in the Western Cape.

Zephany told You of their relationship status: “She said sorry, but she doesn’t show remorse. It remains difficult for me when it comes to her. You think something is getting better, but actually, you just get used to it.”

Zephany – who continues to undergo counselling as a result – added: “I don’t think she realises life will be very different when she returns.

“The whole thing changed us all. I still love the mother she was to me. She always took care of me and looked after me, but I don’t think the bond we had is there anymore.”
