Mystery philanthropist BI Phakathi has vowed to help a woman caught stealing nappies in a video that has gone viral on social media.
The Good Samaritan reacted to the clip of the young mom who was publicly admonished in a local supermarket.
YOUNG MOM STEALING NAPPIES DRAWS MIXED REACTIONS
In the clip, a young woman was seen being humiliated by store employees for stealing a pack of Huggies nappies. The woman had concealed the items underneath her clothes in her desperate attempt.

The video drew mixed reactions from social media users. While many agreed that stealing was the wrong thing to do, others had a soft spot for the woman, who was likely a mom who had fallen on hard times.
In the spirit of Ubuntu, many Twitter – or X – users reached out to offer help to the woman.
One tweep posted: “Anyone know how and where this young woman can be traced? Please help locate her.

The tweep added: “As for these women subjecting her to this shameful spectacle, you could have handled the situation better. You really let her down, and it is heartbreaking to see such from other women”.
The post attracted the attention of BI Phakathi, who is known for his generous donations to the less privileged.
He tweeted: “Locate her.”
WHO IS BI PHAKATHI?
Although the physical appearance of BI Phakathi is unknown to South Africans, he is widely praised for his videos in which he generously donates food and cash to those desperately in need.
Through his foundation, the mystery man aims to “help people who need help in these difficult times.”

He says of himself: “The South African motivational speaker, filmmaker, and life coach BI lends just a hand, without showing his face.
“BI has maintained his reputation as a mysterious giver to the underserved on the streets. In his videos, he helps the underprivileged and homeless people with resources. Bi believes in maintaining anonymity while adding value to society”.
Phakathi also emphasises that he does not have a hidden agenda. He tweeted: “I am not a politician not interested in being one. We all have the job to love one another without expecting anything in return; it’s our purpose in life to share the little we have”.
Phakathi also insisted he was neither rich nor a celebrity.
