Sibonelo’s replacement? Nonhle Jali and Vuyo Dabula join ‘Uzalo’

Former ‘Generations: The Legacy’ actor Vuyo Dabula and fitness guru, Nonhle Jali have secured roles in SABC1’s soapie ‘Uzalo’.

Reality TV star Nonhle Jali and actor Vuyo Dabula, who portrayed the role of Kumkani in Generations: The Legacy have joined Uzalo.

VUYO DABULA AND NONHLE JALI: LATEST TV ROLES

Entertainment commentator Mlu announced on X (aka Twitter) on Thursday, 14 September that Vuyo Dabula and fitness guru Nonhle Jali have scored roles on the SABC1 soapie Uzalo.

Mlu adds that Jali will portray the role of Thandiswa, a businesswoman with ambitious goals and a penchant for danger, while Dabula will play the role of Bentley Majozi.

Nonhle, who was married to soccer star Andile Jali is not new to television as she previously starred on Diski Divas.

Uzalo viewers predict that Dabula has replaced actor Wiseman Mncube who recently exited the show as Sibonelo.

Mncube, who’s been with the soapie from season five to nine has secured a leading role in Mzansi Magic’s upcoming telenovela, My Brother’s Keeper.

Dabula, who portrayed a charming villain called Kumkani “Gaddafi” Phakade has secured roles in Entangled, Unseen since leaving Generations: The Legacy in December 2021.

‘UZALO’ RENEWED

SABC1’s soapie Uzalo, which remains South Africa’s most-watched TV show with over 5 million viewers has reportedly been renewed for another season.

The TV show which is currently in its nineth season stars former The Queen star Sibusisiwe Jili, The Wife star Lindah Majola, Isibaya star Thembi Nyandeni, Masoja Msiza and many more.

The Broadcasting Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA) August 2023 figures reveal that the Durban-based soapie, Uzalo scored over 5 million viewers, while Skeem Saam secured second position with over 4 million viewers.
