Miss Universe South Africa 2023: Meet Bryoni Govender

The Miss Universe organisers announced that Miss SA runner up Bryoni Govender will be representing South Africa at the international pageant taking place in El Salvador in November this year.

BRYONI GOVENDER TO REPRESENT SA AT MISS UNIVERSE

Miss Universe announced that Bryoni Govender will be representing South Africa at the international pageant, just a day after she became the Miss SA runner up. Reigning Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel was one of the judges at the Miss SA finale.

Bryoni, who hails from Gauteng, placed in the top two at the finale of the Miss SA pageant held at SunBet Arena, Times Square in Pretoria on Sunday 13 August. Natasha Joubert, who placed in the Miss SA top three in 2020 became Miss SA 2023 and Bryoni was then crowned the runner up.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT MISS UNIVERSE SA

• Bryoni is a qualified lawyer, who worked as a trainee associate.
• She studied at the University of Johannesburg (UJ).
• Bryoni is off South Indian descent.
• She is dating former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic.
• Bryoni hails from Kempton Park, Johannesburg.
