‘7de Laan’ actor David Rees’ manager Corlia Strauss reveals that he’s still in ICU and doctors are concerned about his breathing.

7de Laan actor David Rees, who plays millionaire Chris Welman in the SABC2 soapie had a heart attack on Sunday, 30 August due to an arterial blockage.

ACTOR DAVID REES IN ICU

7de Laan actor David Rees’ publication manager, Corlia Strauss revealed on his Instagram account on Monday, 7 August that he is still in ICU and did not have a good night.

Strauss also revealed that doctors are concerned about his breathing, but he is in good hands and the constant flow of warm and positive messages is very encouraging.

“As many of you know, our beloved soapie star, David Rees, renowned for his role as Chris Welman in #7deLaan, has had a devastating heart attack. This unexpected turn has brought pressing challenges his way, both medically and financially. David, sadly, lacks medical aid. This fact intensifies an already daunting journey,” added Strauss.

The family launched a BackaBuddy (crowdfunding page) to raise R500 000 for his medical bills. The public had donated nearly R60 000 at the time of publishing this article.

‘7DE LAAN’ ACTOR FAMILY PLEADS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Brielfy recently revealed that actor David Rees’ sister Michelle Buttle is pleading with Mzansi to assist the family of the with his medical bills.

His family also revealed to the publication that they were in shock, while his sister added they moved him to a private hospital after a misdiagnosis of an ulcer at a public hospital.

“The first hospital did not have a cardiologist on call, so he was rushed to Milpark Hospital. David is not on medical aid, and I’ve had to cover accident fees, doctors’ bills, scans, and blood tests. The costs are mounting daily, and he will likely be hospitalised for some time. However, he is receiving excellent care.”
