In a new Instagram post Amapiano DJ Uncle Waffles has announced that she will be dropping her new project “Asylum of Solace” on 11 August 2023.

‘STUCK IN AN ASYLUM’
In a video diary posted to her Instagram, Uncle Waffles explains the overall intention and meaning behind her two-part project, Asylum of Solace.
“I’m such a big believer in attaching meaning to everything, even if that sounds ridiculous to other people, but music is such a spiritual experience that needs to be defined so people understand the way it was created”, the Amapiano DJ added.
Uncle Waffles continues: “Asylum of Solace is basically a representation of my journey. It’s been almost two years since my life changed, and I wanted my music contribution to be very intentional”.
Describing the first half of her project, Asylum as “representation of the hardships in her journey”, Uncle Waffles admits to struggling with the chaos that came with her first big break in 2021.
“Asylum represents how I felt through this journey when it was just chaos, feeling like I was drowning and losing myself”, she shared.
Uncle Waffles also mentions that she chose the particular cover art for Asylum because she felt like she was losing her mind, “stuck in an asylum”.
“Which is why I decided to choose the cover art to represent how at some point in my mind I felt like I was losing it, feeling like I was stuck in an asylum”, she expressed.

‘HIGHLY FAVOURED’
Now releasing Solace in exactly one week, Uncle Waffles has noted that this offering represents and highlights the “grace within” her journey in the Amapiano scene.
“Solace is supposed to represent the grace withing this journey. The reality of this journey is that I am highly favoured”, the DJ explained.
She continues: “Solace is a representation of the grace that followed me and gave me so much peace and happiness, a mirror into how beautiful this journey continues to be, the blessings within this journey. It represents an Unexplainable feeling of gratitude that this journey chose me”.
She furthermore explains that the reason for releasing this project as Part B, was because she wanted it to be the main focal point highlighting the positives of her journey.
“I wanted this to be Part B, because I wanted it to be the main focus. The main focus for me is the good parts of this journey”.
The Amapiano artist recently announced that she will be headlining her first show.
