Tsotsi star Presley Chweneyagae has made headlines once again; this time, it is for allegedly not paying maintenance for his 16-year-old son.

The actor’s baby mama, Alletta Somfula — who says she has taken him to court three times — exposed him on the popular Moja Love show called Papgeld; a show that encourages parents to be active in their children’s lives.

According to Somfula, she got pregnant with their son in 2005. The actor asked for a DNA test and the results confirmed that he is indeed their son’s father. The actor also has two children with his wife, Paulina Chweneyagae.

Somfula further told Zimoja that she has five court orders against Chweneyagae, but she has not been successful in getting him to pay maintenance for their son who is now in grade 10.

“I am not a bitter baby mama but I want what is best for my child,”  she is quoted as saying. “All he knows is to ask my parents for my child to visit him, when I am not around,  and not buy him anything,” she added.

In 2007, she took The River actor — who plays the character of Cobra or Cobreezy — to court in Mafikeng where he reportedly promised to pay R300 a month for the child. Seven years later she moved the file to Tembisa and Chweneyagae allegedly promised to pay R700 maintenance. She says he only paid R1000 and then disappeared. Somfula again moved the file to Kempton Park, where she currently resides, and as it stands, the actor owes R58 800 maintenance.

Throughout the Papgeld episode, Chweneyagae ignored questions from the show’s presenter and Somfula.

The 38-year-old actor has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. In December, it emerged that Chweneyagae is also implicated in the ongoing National Lotteries Commission (NLC) fraud case being investigated by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).

According to 702, GroundUp investigative journalist Raymond Joseph revealed that over R15 million was received for a musical event called Taking Back the Future by the Southern African Youth Movement (SAYM) which the actor was reportedly an ambassador of. His organisation — called the Presley Chwenengayae Foundation — was included in all branding on all content related to the project and show including a vehicle funded by the NLC. Chweneyagae was also the writer of the play, however, there is no evidence of any of the shows except some pictures of the opening night.
