WHAT DID DR MATTHEW LANI PUT IN THE PILLS?

South Africans who followed Dr Matthew Lani on social medi are wondering what he put in the pills with the peculiar barcode.

Lani’s pills trended on social media this week when a social media user @MatsekoThandiwe shared a picture of the bottle with a barcode which read, 1234567891011121314.

Thandiwe tweeted: “My sister bought Dr Matthew’s pills a month ago…. Guys this barcode is killing me! We only saw it today.”

Comedienne and TV personality, The Funny Chef also shared a video on her Instagram account to ask her followers, what the fake doctor put in the pills.

“When you get a chance, please ask this guy what he put in the pills? What did people consume?” asked The Funny Chef.

The Blackdiamond01 replied: “I saw on Twitter people who were apparently hospitalised because of those pills. But my question is: Did they work?”

The Citizen reports that during his ‘employment’ at Helen Joseph Hospital, Dr Lani fabricated a story about the admission of a large number of people at the hospital due to taking a certain weight-loss pill.

GDoH said Lani’s fabrication led to the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (Sahpra) investigating the matter in August, which debunked the story.
