‘He’s a thief’: Lee Thompson followers claim he ‘stole’ their money

Despite returning to social media, The Bachelor SA’s Lee Thompson is dodging allegations he ‘scammed’ female fans of their money.

The past of The Bachelor South Africa star Lee Thompson has come back to haunt him after many of his female followers have accused him of “swindling” them out of money.

The reality TV star returned to social media this week after seven months out of the spotlight. During this time, Thompson reportedly checked into a rehab centre over alleged substance abuse, reports You Magazine.

The publication also alleges that the blonde Cape Town model was homeless after trashing a bed and breakfast. But to add insult to injury, Lee has also been accused of failing to deliver on a 2021 tell-all book; he gladly accepted cash for.

FANS: ‘SUPRISED HE HASN’T BEEN ARRESTED’

Following his social media return, The South African reached out to women who ordered his book. The female fans claim that after accepting their cash, Lee Thompson allegedly blocked them and did not offer a refund.

The book was originally expected to hit bookshelves in October 2021.

Carla Goncalves Fontoura said: “No contact, no refund, no communication, it’s really disgusting.

“I’m really surprised he has not been arrested for fraud. He is pathetic. He is such a fraudster and steals people’s money.

She added: “He’s a thief.”

Melicia Kelly, a former friend of Lee Thompson claims she was also blocked. This after pre-ordering two books.

She said: “I actually sent a message but got no reply.” She added: “That man needs Jesus.”

LEE THOMPSON MAKES A COMEBACK

Meanwhile, Lee Thompson returned to Instagram with news of another book venture, this time as the hunk featured on the cover.

The novel – translated as ERIK: In His Remembrance – tells the story of an eligible bachelor who is forced to pick a bride in order to inherit his wealthy father’s business.

“A pleasure working with [the] world-renowned author on the must-read novel,” he captioned the post.

Ironically, Lee added a note to his caption, which read: “Reading not recommended for under 18s, may have triggers”.

Lee also turned off comments on the post, preventing his followers from having their say.

‘BEHIND THE ROSE’

In October 2022, Lee Thompson last updated his IG followers about his book – which was originally cited to unpack the “deception, manipulation and lies” he experienced during the filming of M-Net’s The Bachelor SA in 2019.

Additionally, the book was expected to cover the star’s recent public woes like “mental health issues and alcohol and drug addiction.” The memoir would also tackle Lee’s account of “suicide attempts” as well as “becoming homeless and living on the streets.”

The book has been delayed several times and the status of it is currently unknown.

The South African reached out to Lee Thompson for comment. He has ignored multiple requests to respond to the allegations.
