The Springboks lost 8-13 against Ireland in Paris on Saturday. Mack Hansen’s first-half try and extra points from Johnny Sexton and Jack Crowley helped the Irish to victory, Planet Rugby reported. Meanwhile, South Africa missed three penalty chances and only made one try by winger Cheslin Kolbe, Independent UK reported.

“It’s quite sad that the Springboks lost. I predicted that they would win comfortably. The fact of the matter is that the Springboks had so many opportunities to win the game – but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.  I believe this game could possibly have some positive repercussions for Springboks in terms of the play-offs,” he said.

FORMER RUGBY PLAYER, BEAST ENCOURAGES THE SPRINGBOKS NOT TO GIVE UP

During the Rugby World Cup in 2019, the Springboks lost a pool game against New Zealand. Despite their loss against Ireland recently, Tendai Mtawarira believes the Springboks still have a chance to win the Rugby World Cup title this year.

“Springboks can do the same thing and come back and win this whole thing. I envision, possibly, an Irish [vs] Springbok final… I know we going to play France. And if you look at France, they are missing some of their big-name stars so I believe [that] we can take advantage of their situation… We have got to bounce back,” Mtawarira said.
