AKA’S BROTHER STEFF THANKS HIS FRIENDS FOR THE SUPPORT

The funeral was attended by family and close friends including his industry friend and rapper pH Raw X who put together a mash-up video of the funeral as well as the aftermath which was shared by news outlet Zimoja.

The tear-jerking video starts at the gravesite where AKA was laid to rest as his family and friend surrounded his grave.

Another part of the video shows family and friends gathered at home as they are seated and having drinks. In the clip, AKA’s younger brother, Steff, takes a moment to give a vote of thanks as he acknowledges those who have supported his family since the rapper’s passing. Steff makes mention of AKA’s girlfriend and rapper Nadia Nakai, as well as his friends Da L.E.S, Zaz, and Don Design.

Having never heard Steff speak before, fans could not help but notice that he sounds very much like the Fela in Versace hitmaker when he speaks. In fact, his voice is so similar to AKA’s it’s uncanny.

AKA and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane — who is the musician’s former manager and friend — were gunned down outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on 10 February.

According to IOL, during the anouncement of the Quarter 3 Crime Statistics on Friday, 17 February, Police Minister Bheki Cele said that the brigadier Vela Cele will head up the investigation into the murder of the two media personalities.

Brigadier Cele is famous for tracking down Luyanda Botha in just 10 days. Botha was sentenced for the rape and murder of 19-year-old University of Cape Town (UCT) student Uyinene Mrwetyana.

At the 7th SAPS National Excellence Awards, Brigadier Cele was honoured for his role which led the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to finalise the murder and rape trial in three months.
