BRYAN HABANA’S EMOTIONAL STORY ABOUT THE SPRINGBOKS PLAYER

Daily Mail reports that Springboks legend Bryan Habana recently shared a heart-wrenching story of Makazole Mapimpi’s rise to success that nearly left all the players in the dressing room in tears.

Habana recalls how the 33-year-old revealed he had a difficult upbringing. Players were sent pictures from family members to put on the back of their jerseys at previous World Cups and Mapimpi only had a picture of himself.

When players asked Mapimpi why he only had a picture of himself, he said he had nobody else but himself.

“You think too much of yourself”, asked the players jokingly and he replied, “Because I only have me. My mother died when I was young, my dad is not in my life, the only person who carries myself is me”.

Habana adds that the whole team went sombre, there was weeping, and Rassie Erasmus started crying.
