SA celeb chef cooks local dishes for Omarion, more [photos]

On 25 June, South African celebrity chef Lorna Maseko gave her Instagram followers a peek into what she had cooked for a few US stars.

In a series of pictures posted on Instagram on Sunday, 25 June, popular South African chef, Lorna Maseko shared her love for South African cuisine as she cooked up a storm for some familiar American stars.

LEKKER! LORNA MASEKO COOKS FOR STARS IN HOLLYWOOD

Lorna Maseko flew the South African flag high when she cooked some local favourite dishes for a few international stars. She shared that she had hosted her first pop-up restaurant in California recently and said she wanted to showcase some of Mzansi’s beauty.

“This week I hosted my first pop-up in Los Angeles, California celebrating South African food and showcasing my beautiful country and heritage. The event was attended by colleagues and friends, new and old. It’s always been my goal and vision to take South African food to the world – what an amazing evening & incredible crowd of people to have in one room, definitely one for the books and a very proud moment! Maseko said.

Maseko gave her Instagram followers a glimpse of what she had cooked for her international guests. As seen on the menu, she served them magwinya (vet koek) with atchar and chicken livers, pickled fish broth, a seven colour dish, and handed each of them them a cool ginger beer beverage. And, for dessert, she also made a classic Amarula milktart.

Maseko constantly proves that she is more than just what meets the eye. Not only is she a former professional ballet dancer, a TV presenter, a reality TV star, and a chef, but she also has a cookbook out. According to TimesLIVE, she had previously shared her journey with food and said that her love for food originates from Alexandra township in Johannesburg. She reportedly said that travelling the world exposed her to different kinds of food, including Asian, Mexican, as well as other types of food.
