Simon Leviev is going to need you to send him a lot of money to escape his enemies. And by enemies we mean the real Leviev family, who have reportedly filed a lawsuit against him.

The diamond tycoons are suing the Tinder Swindler conman, whose real name is Shimon Hayut, for damages in relation to his impersonation.

This follows his wild and elaborate web of lies documented in the hit Netflix series. The documentary detailed his modis operandi – which involved claims that he was the son of wealthy businessman Lev Leviev.

In a statement released on Monday, 28 February, the Leviev family attorney claimed the lawsuit was “only the beginning of a number of lawsuits.”

Guy Ophir said: “In the next phase we will file a monetary suit against Simon and any other affiliate that will work with him, including some websites that have joint ventures with Simon and/or have offered to buy cameos from him.

“Anyone that will try to capitalize from this scheme will be sued.”

Speaking to NBC News, Lev Leviev’s daughter Chagit Leviev, revealed she wanted Simon to “face justice”.

She said: “Shimon Hayut is a fraud who stole our family’s identity and has tried to exploit our good name to con victims out of millions of dollars. He has no relation to the Leviev family and has no affiliation with our company LLD Diamonds.

“I am relieved that his real identity and actions have been globally exposed, and hopefully this will bring an end to his unscrupulous actions”.

Simon Leviev was arrested in 2019 for forgery, fraud and theft. However he was not yet charged for the crimes he committed as seen in Tinder Swindler.

Meanwhile Simon Leviev – who is reaping the rewards of his booming career, which include video cameos, club appearances and even a book deal – claims the Netflix documentary is a “lie”.

Speaking in his first interview, the Israeli convict told Inside Edition: “I’m not this monster. I was just a single guy that wanted to meet some girls on Tinder.

“[These women] weren’t conned and they weren’t threatened…I want to clear my name, I want to say to the world, this is not true.”

Simon also insisted he was a “legit” businessman that had accumulated wealth from a Bitcoin investment.

He continued: “I’m not a fraud and I’m not a fake. People don’t know me so they cannot judge me.

“I don’t need to say how much it’s worth now”.

But interestingly Simon denies telling the women – who accused him of deceiving them – that he is the son of Lev Leviev.

When asked if he ever claimed to be a diamond magnate heir, he replied: “No I am not, and I never presented myself [as such].”
