‘Well deserved’: Russell Simmons gifts Zakes Bantwini a cake [watch]

Grammy Award-winner Zakes Bantwini partied up a storm with American entrepreneur Russell Simmons in a club in Southeast Asia.

Grammy Award-winning deejay, Zakhele Madida, popularly known by his stage name Zakes Bantwini has been getting noticed worldwide and rubbing shoulders with the prominent individuals for some time now, and on Sunday, 9 April, he was spotted parting it up with 65-year-old American mogul, Russell Simmons in a packed club in Bali, Indonesia.


The international Deejay’s circle is getting bigger and bigger. He recently took to Instagram to show off one of his A-list celebrity friends in a clip where the duo could be seen enjoying one another’s presence.

When posting the snaps online, the Osamo hitmaker shared that Simmons and serial entrepreneur and author Swaady Martin had actually gifted him with a cake, saying,

“Yesterday the iconic @unclerush & my sister @swaady_martin came thru bearing a gift of appreciation, recognition & love; a toast & cake to a Grammy win!

“We stand on the shoulders of giants!” Zakes Bantwini added.

After shaking up dance floors worldwide, Zakes Bantwini believes that home is where the heart is at.

Previously reported by The South African, he was once quoted as saying,

“You can travel the world, but you need to come home. “

According to News24, he is planning a huge concert that will take place in October which is said to feature top local and international guests.

Zakes Bantwini also plans to retire at the end of the year as a performer.
