‘I’m still shocked’: Makhadzi, ‘Skeem Saam’s’ ‘Kwaito’ pay tribute to ‘Diep City’ star Lebohang Mpyana
Singer Makhadzi and ‘Skeem Saam’ actor Clement Maosa pay tribute to their friend Lebohang Mpyana, who played Khelina in ‘Diep City’.

Limpopo-born musician Makhadzi took to her Instagram this week to pay tribute to her Diep City star-friend, Lebohang Mpyana who passed away on Wednesday, 1 November after a short illness.
“RIP my friend. I am still shocked,” wrote Makhadzi.

‘SKEEM SAAM’ ACTOR CLEMENT MAOSA: ‘I’M VERY ANGRY’
Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa took to Makhadazi’s post to also pay tribute to the Diep City actress Lebohang ‘Lettie’ Mpyana, who passed away at the age of 34 this week.
Maosa revealed he’s very angry about Mpyana’s passing and that life is not fair: “Nna ke kwatile (I’m angry) … life is not fair.”
Black Brain Pictures, who produced Diep City also paid tribute to the award-winning actress in a statement to Sowetan.
“We remember her fondly for her captivating performance as Khelina in the show DiepCity. Her talent illuminated our screens and her presence enriched her peers on set and behind the scenes. We will forever cherish her contributions to Black Brain Pictures and the world of TV.”
The family spokesperson T Mpyana released a statement on Thursday morning, 2 November on the actress’s Facebook account which read:
“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our daughter Lebogang Mpyana. Lebo died after a short illness. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers in this time of bereavement. Memorial service and funeral service details will follow”.

Smoke and Mirrors actress Kamo Letsotsa also paid tribute to the Diep City actress Lebohang Mpyana on her social media account.

The actress Lebohang ‘Lettie’ Mpyana’s former Diep City co-star Chrispen Nyathi, who played the role of pastor Charleston on the Mzansi Magic’s telenovela took to his Instagram account on Thursday morning to pay tribute to her.
Comedienne, chef and actress Lebogang Tlokana aka The Funny Chef also paid tribute to Mpyana on her Instagram account: “Rest in Peace, Queen Sekwatakwata.”
@wendymofokeng14: “Today we are making noise for you, hopefully you will understand. Rest in peace Lettie.”
Gomora star Sannah Mchunu also paid tribute to her industry friend on social media this week.
@joy_zelda: “She killed her character as Khelina on Diep City. The industry has lost another great talent.”
