Rapper Emtee haunted by the same ghost

Award-winning rapper Emtee can’t seem to shake off the drunkard label that has been following him for years.

‘I DON’T LIKE LIQUOR’
In a recent Instagram live video, Emtee – real name Mthembeni Ndevu – addressed comments he was drunk, TshisaLIVE reported.
“I don’t drink liquor mother f**ker. I don’t like liquor. Get it through your thick skull. Stop telling me I’m drunk. Did you give me the drinks?” he said.

Last month, the 31-year-old hip hop artist took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share that he has not consumed alcohol since 2013.
“Manne I’m proud of myself. 10 years sober from alcohol. That thing is the devil. Stoners be down to earth like a mf,” he wrote.

EMTEE ON WHY HE QUIT ALCOHOL
Emtee told fellow rapper and podcaster on his YouTube show, the L-Tido Podcast, that he quit alcohol because he has see the impact it has on people, including his father.
“One of the reasons I stopped drinking alcohol, I came to the realisation that alcohol is actually the devil himself inside the bottle. I see how people behave when they’re drunk. I see what it does to people,” he said.
The Manando hitmaker, who is also a father-of-three, said that he spokes marijuana.
“The nicest n*gga might turn out to be the toughest n*gga because he is drunk … my dad used to be heavy on it, and I used to see what it does to him. I don’t want to be a statistic, so please give me the ganja only.”

This is not the first time that he has shared that he smokes weed. In June, the musician hit back at his estranged wife Nicole Kendall Chinsamy’s claims that he is a drug addict by explaining that all he does is smoke marijuana.
Nicole had made the allegations in a police statement seen by Sunday World, which she filed when she opened a case of gender-based violence (GBV) against him earlier this year. She later withdrew the charges.
