Prison to a palace: Is this the mansion Oscar Pistorius will live in?
Oscar Pistorius is expected to apply for parole any day now. This Pretoria mansion – worth over R20 million – awaits after his release.

With news that Oscar Pistorius is, in fact, eligible for parole, it seems only a matter of time before the former Paralympian swops prison for quite literally a palace.
If he is granted an early release pending a successful hearing, Pistorius will likely retreat to his uncle Arnold’s mega-million rand mansion in Pretoria.
Earlier this week, the Constitutional Court ruled that Oscar had been eligible for parole since March 2023. This, after serving half his sentence for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

OSCAR PISTORIUS: NEW PAROLE BID IN THE WORKS?
On Monday, 9 October, the Constitutional Court confirmed Oscar Pistorius’s claims that he has been eligible for parole since March 2023.
The announcement was made via the Department of Correctional Services (DCS).
Pistorius approached the highest court in South Africa after he was denied parole earlier this year. This, despite him serving half of his 13-year and five-month murder sentence.

According to DCS spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo, the department will “study” the order issued to them by the ConCourt. He added: “This shall ensure that the order of court is correctly executed.”
Following the ConCourt order and a subsequent DCS directive, Pistorius will likely apply for a parole hearing again in light of the new information.
IS THIS WHERE HE WILL STAY?
Earlier this year, Oscar Pistorius’s father, Henke, confirmed that his son would stay at his uncle Arnold’s spacious Waterkloof home.
Arnold, Henke’s brother, is a prominent businessman who accumulated much of his wealth through developing, letting, and managing commercial properties around South Africa.
According to Henke, Pistorius had his own cottage on the sprawling Pretoria property, where he had lived during the murder trial.

He told Pretoria News at the time: “We are excited about the prospect of having him home. This has been a disrupted and difficult time for us.”
According to The Mirror, the brick-faced home – worth over R20 million – boasts “sweeping verandas, landscaped gardens, and a swimming pool”. It also is equipped with high walls and a 24-hour-a-day posted security guard to keep prying eyes away.
TimesLive claims the property was converted from a Dutch Reformed Church rectory into a 24-room mansion.
